Harp Development, a Fort Myers-based development company, has introduced a new concept in RV resort living, Golden Palms Motorcoach Estates. According to the company’s Amir Harpaz, Golden Palms is unlike any luxury RV resort currently being offered in Florida and even the country.
“Golden Palms is a deed restricted, private gated, Class A, motorcoach resort community located on State Road 82 east of Fort Myers,” said Harpaz. “What differentiates Golden Palms from other resort communities is that each lot will have its own 14- by 36-foot “casita” that can be tailored to an owners’ specific needs.
“In addition, we are also offering 68 villas that can be custom built across the street from the waterfront lots, allowing owners to have family members and guests stay overnight or enjoy a relaxing day in the community without having to stay in the motorcoach itself.”
Golden Palms Motorcoach Estates is a gated, 54-acre community that will have a 22-acre lake as its centerpiece. Dick O’Connell, the sales manager for the community, said 75 sites will front the lake and an additional 22 sites are set against a nature preserve.
Golden Palms also has its own amenity area. The two-story, 10,000-square-foot clubhouse features a 56- by 32-foot grand room, a kitchen with pantry, meeting/games room, exercise room and locker rooms with showers. The entire second floor of the clubhouse has been designed as an observation deck, which will allow residents and their guests to view the 22-acre lake just a short distance away.
The exterior of the clubhouse includes a pool, spa and a tennis court. Nearby, extending out onto the lake, is an observation pier with large gazebo and boat docks for Golden Palms’ residents private use.
“Although the club area will be very upscale, it’s the size of the sites, the casitas and the private villas which have gained national attention,” said O’Connell.
The majority of the 97 custom estate sites measure 55 feet wide and 110 feet deep – big enough to accommodate two motorcoaches as well as an optional pool, spa and outdoor barbeque area.
Each site also has its own casita. The 500-square-foot building has four floor plan options, depending upon the owner’s specific lifestyle needs.
Those options include a one-car garage and recreation room; a golf cart/hobby storage room, full bath and recreation room with kitchen; a grand room with kitchen and an open room; or two large open rooms.
Each casita also has two sets of sliding glass doors that offer access to the patio area.
The private villas, which are built across the street from the motorcoach site, have four floor plan options.
The one-and two-story villas, which range from 601 to 935 square feet, offer one- and two-bedroom floor plans with a grand room and kitchen, one to three-car garages, and an optional elevator for two-story plans.
The pre-construction price of the motorcoach sites range from $240,000 to $320,000, including the casita. The pricing for the private guest villas, which are optional, has not yet been determined.
“We’re anticipating the first residents at Golden Palm Motorcoach Estates will be able to drive in and enjoy the community by season 2007,” said Harpaz.
